The Cochrane Roping Club is a welcoming, roping-focused community based in Cochrane, Alberta. Whether you’re just getting started or have years of experience, our club supports all skill levels with a range of programs designed for everyone.
We offer a range of live cattle suited to all levels of ropers, providing the opportunity to progress and gain confidence in a real roping environment. Additionally, our facility is fully equipped with roping dummies and a Heel-O-Matic, allowing members to practice and refine their skills off live cattle if desired.
If you’re passionate about roping—or interested in learning in a fun and supportive environment—we invite you to join us at the Cochrane Roping Club.

CANCELLATIONS
Some roping nights may change or be canceled without warning (e.g. bad weather, scheduling conflicts, etc.).
Ask about joining our Cochrane Roping Club WhatsApp group to keep informed as to roping events and changes.
Please check the Events Calendar page for information on all our scheduled events, work-bees, clinics, and special events.
Be respectful of your surroundings when warming up/roping. Pay attention to your fellow ropers/riders, and ensure the arena is clear before asking for your steer.
Individuals participating in roping practice or jackpot MUST help wrap, unwrap, push up cattle, and bring in cattle/turn out cattle to rope.
To assure heelers get a fair practice it is recommended if headers miss more than 2 steers in a row they place the rope on the steer in the chute.
During practice headers will ONLY pull steers to the far fence to help save cattle for the season.
No misuse of animals (horses and cattle) is permitted on the grounds.
Any physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated and result in removal from the club.
