The Youth Roping Program provides professional instruction to any youth interested in roping. Participants will learn roping, horsemanship, and arena etiquette in an environment that focuses on safety and learning.
All skill levels are welcome! We provide professional instruction for all levels.
Safety is our number one priority. Our instructor will assess each participant and make recommendations based on knowledge, skill level, and equipment. Horses are not required for beginner ropers. Roping dummies & roping cattle are provided by the Cochrane Roping Club. Horses, ropes, and other equipment are not provided. Participants must be younger than 21 years old & ID may be requested.
7:00 pm to 9:00pm every Wednesday in July & August.
Coached Youth Program:
Provides professional instruction by John Owens to youth - 21 years or younger for 8 weeks.
Youth Full Membership:
Youth members are able to attend all practice nights throughout the season.
Youth members can rope in any jackpot series, but there are additional entry fees required to participate (same as adult fees) - See Buckle Series Page for costs
All riders under the age of 18 are required to wear a helmet
Parent/guardian of minors must sign a Waiver for a youth member
Youth Fees (Under 21 Years Old)
Youth - Coached Program only - $170
Includes Membership and lessons nights in July and August.
Youth - Full Season - $250
Includes Membership fee and all roping nights - Including Team Roping, Breakaway, Learn to Rope nights, and Ranch Roping.
Youth Drop in - $40
Not eligible for the Youth Learn to Rope Summer program.
Peewee Membership (Under 8 Years Old)
Peewee - Full Season - $85
Coached Nights only - Includes Membership fee
All Youth Under the Age of 18 years old are required to wear a helmet while mounted.
This is an insurance requirement and will have a Zero Tolerance Policy.
